Brighton Pride 2008

Here’s the facts:

The parade sets off from Madeira Drive, right next to Brighton Pier at 11am, and get’s to Preston Park around 1.00pm. But remember – this is gay time, and things are usually 30 minutes late.

This year’s theme is “Around the world”, with each of the fifty different entries representing a different country or city. The highlight this year without doubt will be the Conservative Party float – you may have seen the adverts: “I’m coming out – I’m a Tory”. Christ.

But Preston Park is usually where most of us London gayers end up – most probably either falling around on the grass outside the Wild Fruit tent, or rolling about inside it. Last time we went there we found ourselves at a house party with an orgy going  on upstairs, a Polish woman running around the lounge saying “Never trust the French”, whilst at the same time thinking that we were sat in an Ikea store… but that’s another story.

The park closes at 8pm.

If you’re staying over night, don’t forget that Fire is hosting an afterhours party at Club Revenge – starting at 4.30am till late. DJ’s include The Sharp Boyz, The Oli and The Dave Cross.

If you’re returning to London however, keep an eye out for the OMO flyer-boys who’ll be offering free access to the OMO Saturday pre-launch party at The Astoria.
