FILM: MR RIGHT
Highlights, Theatre by HOMOVISION on November 25, 2009 at 12:49 pmSo right. Last week we went to the screening of Mr Right – the new Brit flick based around a gaggle of gaying friends in London’s glitzy (love that word) Soho.
There’s Harry who hates his job as a reality TV producer; Lars – a geeee-orgeous “model”, who’s kept by Tom, a successful but blinkered artist; William, a rugby-playing tight thighed gay dad trying to balance Gaydar dates with school runs; and Louise – the faghag friend dating the man of her dreams. Or so she thinks…
Check out these snaps from the film:
We’re loving Mr Right. It’s refreshing to see a gay movie set in London. And one that doesn’t involve Kappa trackies being pulled down on building sites. Not that we’re prudes…
But anyway, writer David Morris says that he wanted to write a film about being gay from a different angle. “For me, it was to be a story in which, although the characters were gay, the storylines had nothing to do with their sexuality; and tried to avoid the well-worn clichés – so not a drag queen or male stripper in sight,” he says.
HOMOVISION met him outside his Soho flat to find out more:
Mr. Right will be in cinemas from 27 November 2009 and on DVD from 25 January 2010.
HOMOVISION has THREE PAIRS OF TICKETS for the screening this Saturday at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Send an email to: info@homovision.tv or email us on our Facebook profile.
