A 26-year-old-man from Portsmouth has pleaded guilty to posing as a police officer in order to blackmail men meeting for clandestine gay sex.

According to the Portsmouth News, Lee Creamer confessed to extorting hundreds of pounds from three men who were concerned their families would be informed of their activities.

In fake uniform, Creamer would make his way to the Portsdown Hill and Rock Gardens areas of Southsea and inform his victims that they would have to pay an on-the-spot fine or else appear in court. He would then drive them to cashpoints before giving them a fake receipt and details of a course they had to attend.

Creamer pleaded guilty at Portsmouth crown court to three charges of blackmail and one of impersonating a police officer. The crimes took place in June when Creamer extorted a total of £1, 560 from three men, some of who were married. However, police have reason to believe there are more victims and are pleading with any to come forward.

Detective Constable Graham Gray of Portsmouth CID said, “If you have been approached by this man, make contact with us and we can protect your identity.

“We know that he would go to Portsdown Hill and the Rock Gardens, but there could be numerous other spots he went to.”

Anyone with additional information about the case should contact Portsmouth CID on 08450 45 45 45.
