MEPHEDRONE “MEOW MEOW” COCKTAIL KILLS TEEN

The Sun reports today (23rd November) how a 14-year old school girl died at a house party after mixing methedrone (known as “meow meow” apparently… yeah.. us too) with ketamine.

The teen died after passing out on the cocktail of drugs at a party in Brighton. Ambulance crews tried to rescue her but failed.

Methedrone is fast becoming the new drug du jour on London’s gay scene. Friends of friends of HOMOVISION have been buying the drug – which we’re told is cross between ecstacy and cocaine – for bargain bucket prices online. Word on the street is that it’s replacing GHB as the London clubber’s drug of choice.

Methedrone is commonly sold as plant food. Although the drug is proving popular with clubbers, there have been reports of nasty side-effects, including one clubber who suffered blindness. The fact that you’ve got to pretend to be a cat when buying it from the dealer should also be cause for concern. And quite annoying. Snorting it can also cause severe nosebleeds.

Mephedrone has recently been made illegal in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Israel due to growing evidence of harms, including a reported possible cause of death.

  • It is always upsetting when someone dies although I have to compare this single incident against the thousands (if not millions) of people who die each year of smoking and alcohol, yet both remain legal - I guess the government needs to make money some where but isn't ready just yet to strike a deal with a vet in Poland (where meow meow is commonly sold).

    Anyway... any drug that replaces the G heads of Vauxhall and their charming G fits / random collapses / leg humping antics can only be a good thing, even if we don't the long term side effects.

    I have tried Methadrone and like most things when taken in moderation I don't see the harm. Sadly most gay men don't know the meaning of moderation, so expect even more CRAZY EYED people with WAY to MUCH energy at a club near you soon.
